Hiii there I have 2 sheathings . Could I do a request for ‘it’s so cute when you…’ (or smth along those lines) with 7 and/or 5? With little!reader (if you still do that) x Larissa x Marilyn. Where reader has just had a really good and very productive day and Larissa and Marilyn are feeling soft as reader rambles? Second question could I claim the 🌻 anon?
Safe place
*Authors note~ welcome 🌻 anon! I’ve missed writing Agere sm so thank you for joining the clan of anons and for this request*
Trigger warnings ~ Agere, little r x Marilyn x Larissa. Momma Larissa, auntie Mari, nice Marilyn :), r is obsessed with Taylor swift music
Prompt ~see ask^^^
Tumblr media
“Momma will be back soon bug.” Marilyn’s voice seemed to carry around the greenhouse. You loved to be in the room as she tended to her plants. Although you couldn’t touch every petal due to Marilyn’s rules, they were still pretty to look at. Often, Marilyn would play music as she worked which you loved. You loved working with auntie Mari when momma was busy. Luckily for you, when you regressed into a meeting with the principal due to stress she immediately took you under her wing. She absolutely adored her role as your caregiver but with all the strain of keeping Nevermore afloat she struggled with the idea of you alone, vulnerable and well scared.
So that’s how with your permission, Marilyn was let in on the little secret. She readily agreed to help in any way she could. If you couldn’t find one of them, you would be able to find the other. Both women loved to spend time with you in any mindset but Marilyn had to admit there was something special about being “aunty Mari” to you.
“My knuckles were bruised like violets” her unmistakable voice drifted around the room causing you to immediately gasp with excitement. This happened to be one of your favourite songs despite not understanding the lyrics in this headspace. “Oh gosh you are a little cutie when you get so excited at something so much, you start jumping up and down. Gonna dance with me bug?”
“Mari! Mari n me dance!” You giggled running to take the red heads hand, your dress swaying gently with your pace. She was more than happy to just sway with you as your little smile lit the room up.
We can plant a memory garden,
Beautiful flowers in a variety of vibrant colours sprouted from the walls, clearly your ability wasn’t so easily controlled in this state.
Say a solemn prayer; place a poppy in my hair
With an unpracticed ease, Marilyn reached over to grab the flower that lay on her work station before slipping it just behind your ear. Causing you to give her a bright smile as the song continued.
There’s no morning glory, it was war, it wasn’t fair
And we will never go back to that bloodshed crimson clover
Uh-huh, the worst was over
My hand was the one you reached for
You couldn’t help but pout when the song ended as you knew it meant Marilyn needed to work and you wouldn’t continue making your pictures at the desk. But wanting to be good like you promised you would be you settle back down relatively quickly.
Minutes turned into hours before Larissa could finally escape the board meeting and back to her girl. The walk to the conservatory was longer than she remembered. The gentle waves of music hit the blonde first, it wasn’t uncommon for Marilyn to work to music. She stated it helped her feel more connected to the plants which always made the blonde chuckle. But this very specific musician had to be your pick. If there’s one thing she knew, her girl loved Taylor swift no matter what headspace she’s in.
Casually peaking around the doorframe, she saw Marilyn in her own world tending to some white roses and you sat at her desk, tongue out as you focused on the paper before you. Both the occupational were humming along to the music and clearly not noticing the extra presence. A rare moment to bask in the adorable sight before her, Larissa couldn’t help but smile.
The moment you spotted the woman, you were out of the chair and barrelling into her legs with your body. “Mommaaaaaaa” you squealed happily as she scooped you up into her arms. “Hello to you too my darling. Did you have fun with Mari?” One innocent sweet kiss pressed to your cheek as you launched into recounting every detail of your day. Rambles of the songs, the flowers, your drawings and dancing filled the room. Both the other women couldn’t help but lovingly watch you explain every last detail. Truly, they were lucky to have you in their lives.
"Oh darling, you’re just so adorable when start babbling without realising. Momma loves to hear her girl all happy." Larissa murmured ruffling your hair slightly before setting you on the ground with slightly flushed cheeks.
All I know, this morning when I woke
Is I know something now, know something now,
I didn’t before
“Momma! This our song!” You exclaimed excitedly, “dance momma. Dance.” You held your hand out to the principal causing Marilyn to chuckle, “your turn Ris isn’t that right bug? Momma should have a dance with you.” As if she could say no, the little look on your face was simply too cute for words. With ease, she strides over to you scooping you up and placing you on her hip. You instantly snuggled into her warmth, your head settling into her neck. “Mari dance” you whined into her soft skin causing Larissa to silently invite the red head to join you. The three of you swayed to song after song, soaking in the moment of peace. Little did you know this was the start of something beautiful for you all.

Rowena and the thick, bloody umbilical cord between choices and faults.
In a previous post of mine I’ve explored a little bit how Mary and Kelly represent a sort of “missed opportunity” for, respectively, Sam and Jack.
At the beginning of s13 Sam resents the fact that he hasn’t been proactive in seeking to create a relationship with his mother and now that she’s (presumably) gone he doesn’t want to deal with that reality. He had wasted his second chance. Jack, on the other hand, never even had a first opportunity to begin with but, unlike Sam, has experienced a sense of unity with his mother so extreme that one of the first things that he tells Sam is that he was his mother(!!!).
S13 reinforces the Mother-Son symbolism because, after Jack’s birth, a rift is opened in space (apparently not in time?): Kelly stays (dead, rip girl I love you) on one side of it while Mary crosses it and finds herself in Apocalypse World. To make things even more clear, this is no random parallel universe: this is the alternate reality where Mary didn’t deal with Azazel. So mothers and their choices/faults are a central theme in this season. Or, well, more or less.
To complete the mothers’ trimurti or, better, tridevi we’re missing the final mother, the destroyer who is, of course, Rowena. It’s therefore quite apt that Rowena reaches her highest potential this season and even confronts Death. What motivates her in an interesting blend of (missing)love and (lacking)power. Lucifer is as part of her story as Kelly’s and Mary’s. Unlike these two, though, she doesn’t have a son who resurrects her, nor a turned-benefactor cosmic being who offers her resurrection as a gift to her son. Rowena has to resurrect herself. Not once but twice. She is, perhaps, the loneliest character in the whole series.
This is actually quite ironic because, if we look back on previous seasons, her “choice” to kill Oskar, her putative son, was what triggered the whole chain of events (the freeing of Amara first and Lucifer second) that directly link Rowena with Mary and Kelly.
It’s only natural, then, that s13 Rowena keeps representing the reversal of the Mary and Sam/ Kelly and Jack relationships because there is no son who’s looking for her, rather she is the mother who’s looking for her (dead) child. Like Sam, she also needs someone who can access another dimension to bring Crowley back but, unlike him, she’s not successful. Now, ngl, this pisses me off to no end, like of course I can understand the real reasons why Crowley couldn’t be brought back, still I kinda hate how it was narratively framed.
When, in "Funeralia", Rowena says that life is unfair she is right but not in the general, pessimistic sense of the phrase: she's right because in-universe some deaths are more important than others and people get back on board depending on whether or not they're still a role to play for them. Rowena's faith in magic is actually justified because magic is the only thing that can help her. And the tragic thing is that it's also what damns her in the process because it's the only form of power she can have access to. There are no angels or cosmic entities looking out for her. She's just... alone.
So, perhaps, it's not that I necessarily hate how her failure to bring Crowley back is described, I just see it as further proof that Rowena is the best example to show how in Supernatural the game is rigged from the beginning and we didn’t even need an interfering and pervy God to realize it. That's all we've been seeing it since S1. All those infinite, booooring talks about being good/evil or doing good/bad actually mean nothing because, at the end of the day, in this show what really matters is how useful you can be, to whom and why (and this is way less booooring, you learn a lot of interesting things about these characters if you go down this road, it's grim but it's more rewarding).
S13 is also when the final connection between Rowena and the Winchesters, Sam to be more precise, is established which is indicative of the fact that she will inevitably die. Before S13 her story was her own, after “Funeralia” it cannot be extricated from Sam’s. To some degree, it’s quite similar to what happened with Crowley and Dean. What’s more, just like Crowley’s powers and shrewdness are what really carry the plot from s6 to s12, magic and spells (and therefore Rowena’s role in the story) will be the key for many plot points from s13 to s15. But there is a big difference.
Both Crowley and Rowena’s sacrifices are described as heroic but, let’s be honest, only Rowena’s was. Crowley’s demise was a clean-up after his own mess at best. It also proved to be unnecessary. Rowena and that awful MBOL’s egg thingy would have managed to confine Lucifer, like, they actually did it. It was Crowley who perverted the spell for reasons that I personally find OOC. I would’ve liked the Crowley vs Lucifer power struggle but not the way it was done in s12 because it felt very nonsensical to me. As in: I can see you need a reason to keep Lucifer around and this is what you’ve come up with but it’s still quite illogical.
At its hidden and secret core S13 is the season of the “let’s reframe the sons’ stories and blame it on the mothers”. Just like Kelly is blamed for Castiel’s ideal vision of Jack and Mary’s "choice" is established as the most important point in the whole show, Rowena-as-Mother must face the same fate: it was her fault if Crowley, Fergus!, ended the way he ended. It’s a naaaaaaaaaaaaaah for me.
This is what we’re told in “Funeralia”:
Rowena: Oh, but it is. Death has something I want. Sam: What’s that? Rowena: My son. After you told me he was gone, how he died, I had an unexpected reaction. We had our differences, but it’s my fault he went down the path he did. I left him. Dean: We’re talking about Crowley-- demon, King of Hell? Rowena: We’re talking about Fergus-- a man abandoned and loveless, tricked by a demon, died in a gutter. He deserved better from the world. From me.
Now, just to be clear: yes, Rowena had the responsibility to do better; yes, she was the absolute worst; yes, she played no small role in her son’s story. However, I personally don’t like all these negative associations between “worlds” and “mothers” as if every fucking thing in the universe is dependent solely on them. How did we end up here? It’s almost as if absent fathers are, like, not THAT bad after all (and the show, as far as I'm concerned, ultimately approves of and absolves absent fathers). So I’m very suspicious of the way motherhood is portrayed specifically in s13 and Rowena’s attempt at redemption well demonstrates that there is reason to be so.
This dialogue in “Funeralia” confirms my gut feeling:
Sam: You know, what happened with Crowley? That wasn’t your fault. Rowena: He never had a chance. Dean: He made his choices, just like we all do. Look, every one of us has done something that we have to live with, that were trying to make up for. Every one of us. Sam: Even without all that extra juice, you’re still the deadliest witch around [Sam's flattering Rowena. He's gonna ask for her help in 3,2,1...]. Rowena: Flatterer. Sam: Yeah, well, we, um... we may need your help [Here we go!]. To save our family. To… hell, to save the world. Dean: You wanna be redeemed? This would be a pretty big step. Rowena: And do you think I still can be? Dean: Yeah, I do.
I mean, not to be rude, but who the fuck cares if Dean Winchester thinks that Rowena can be redeemed? Like, how is Rowena’s redemption (which is strictly connected to her being a bad mother and not, among other things, a zero-regret murderer, which she also happens to be, for instance) connected to saving the Winchester’s family? Don’t get me wrong, I understand that this is SPN and that Sam and Dean’s problems are Apocalypse-level problems (lol, they really did that, when I say that their story is like a cosmogony maybe I’m not that wrong) but, as I’ve said, I cannot help but notice the similarities between Rowena’s arc this season with Mary’s and Jack’s, i.e. you can be redeemed if you either do something useful for the Winchesters or... realize that it's not your "fault" that your sons suffered terribily because "choosing" to deal with Azazel was actually the right choice... for the world. How come fathers saving the world are framed as heroic while mothers actively creating worlds by making hard choices that benefit the greater good need redemption?
So to sum up: while fathers invade S13’s main storyline as solvers, restorers and fixers, mothers are the bones of the story, they carry its weight and its sins but get little if nothing in return: Kelly stays dead, Mary ends up helping out a world that absolves her of her Original Sin but that’s nevertheless a mess (you can never win lol) and Rowena can’t get her son back (but she can save Sam and Dean's family the world!). Looks good, right? Hurray mommy!

Headcanons on Kon in the Captain Marvel adopts Superboy AU
Kon is his universes Captain Marvel Junior, Freddy is called Lieutenant Marvel instead
Billy’s age isn’t known, only the Shazamily and Kon know. Plus Tim, Kon told him and Tim makes sure Batman doesn’t figure it out through sneaky sabotage
His jacket has embroidery saying “You’ve been” with Caps symbol on the back with a “Struck!” At the bottom (You’ve been thunderstruck) instead of “Don’t mess with the S”
Does have access to Captain Marvels powers if needed, he’s part of the family so he can call down the lightning, but doesn’t like to because it ages him up and he ends up looking just like Clark
If he is Shazam-ed up his leather jacket becomes double breasted with the thunder emblem taking up most the front and thunder bolts in a belt formation on his hips, other than that his suit stays entirely the same
Civilian name is Conner Elliot Ordway; Conner is obvious, the Elliot is a nod to the House of El, and Ordway is the maiden name of Billy’s mom. The initials spell out CEO which is a humorous nod to Lex. Billy wanted to make sure Kon had a name that honored his family history, as messed up as it is, while still giving his one that’s makes him part of his family and able to be his own person separate from them. Which is why he gave him the last name Ordway instead of Batson, so his identity is completely his own if he wants it to be.
(More under the cut)
Knows Billy is Captain Marvel but still sees him as a great father figure, one who cares about and loves him unconditionally and respects him while also actively trying to be present in his life
Billy models his treatment to Kon as a mix of how he remembers his own dad and doing the opposite of what Superman was doing, which leads to a very loving parent-child dynamic built on respected boundaries and lots of open affection to remind eachother they’re loved
Billy mainly sees Kon as a older brother, Kon sees Captain Marvel as a dad figure and Billy as a little brother when they spend more time together as civilians. It changes based on how long they spend together in one of Billy’s forms for the most part, but mainly Kon sees him as his dad (even if the differences in age are supposed to be odd)
Billy uses the “Pretending to be my own dad” trick with Captain Marvel to get Kon in a high school in Fawcett plus Tim’s stellar “I faked a whole uncle to avoid being adopted” abilities to fake the paperwork
Billy works at Whiz radio and uses Cap in civilian clothes working odd jobs to afford an apartment for the both of them, which is made a lot less expensive when Billy uses that “Powers of Shazam, summon before me (insert desired thing here)” spell he summoned a ping pong table with that one time to cover large furniture
Superman started giving Cap the silent treatment after he learned Conner has been all but legally adopted Kon
Mary is a cool aunt to Kon, both get along well and scrapbook together as a bonding activity
Freddy, understandably, freaks out and is all over Kon the first few months he’s part of the family. Asking about TTK, doing dumb stuff with their powers and arm wrestling to see whose power set is better, asking any and every question that comes to mind. Those two get in a lot of power based shenanigans and hang out a lot in and out of costume
The love language of the entire family is shared time and involves a ton of physical affection just because it’s good to remind people you love them with a hug, Kon is living his best life with all the love and validation he gets 24/7/365
Billy inadvertently catches up with and excels past his age groups study’s after learning what he can as Billy and trying to stay up to date with Kon’s school work to be the parent that can help their kid with homework and does
They go as eachother for Halloween one year, Kon takes a selfie and shows it to the rest of young justice forgetting they don’t know about Billy and when they ask he panics and says that’s his kid brother.
Which tumbles into Batman thinking Cap is CC Batson reincarnated with powers and trying to be a good dad and hero despite the whole death thing and Tim in the background trying not to laugh when he knows Bruce is wrong
(Stuff tied to comic canons)
Captain Marvel disappears for a solid 3 weeks after Kon dies, spending the whole time bouncing from afterlife to afterlife trying to look for him and asking the various death gods he comes across where Kon might have ended up. He doesn’t find him and has to grieve losing his family all over again
Covered every base he could think of looking for Kon’s soul, checked his family’s old faith, Hades because of the Greek ties, Kryptonian gods, a fist fight with Lady Blaze for information but couldn’t find anything. All he knows after that is that either Kon didn’t have a soul (which isn’t true and he refused to believe that), his ghost is roaming around and didn’t move on properly so he’s in a state of limbo, or he’s in some other afterlife and he has no idea what other ones to check for him in. Either way, Billy can’t find him and gets torn up that he lost some of his family all over again
The new 52 has Superboy Prime a prisoner held in the Monsterlands, a realm under the Council of Eternity’s (and Captain Marvel’s) control. Billy makes every day there a living hell for him for the next year until Kon is brought back, and after that all of Young Justice gets a free lifetime pass to pop by and beat him senseless for some Therapy™️. Tim and Cassie got a lot of hits in
When Kon does come back and gets back into the swing of his civilian life Billy worries a lot more and gets a little hover-y as a parent to Kon, Mary makes him earrings and small pieces of jewelry that has protection charms on them, and Freddy checks up on him between classes.
All in all, it’s a family of orphans all in various situations of oprhanhood being there for eachother no matter how weird life gets for them. Sometimes a family is your middle school aged dad, his best friend, his twin sister, a shape shifting talking tiger, and yourself

There's something about season two that I've wanted to talk about, but I've been struggling to find a way to word. But I'm just going for it
In season two of Our Flag Means Death, they introduce six new female characters (Zheng, Archie, Mary Reed, Anne Bonney, Auntie, and Hellcat Mary). I think this is absolutely fantastic since season one had very few female characters (the only notable ones that come to mind are Mary Bonnet, Jim's nana, and Spanish Jackie). So I'm really, really glad new characters are being introduced! That's great! And I actually adore all the new female characters we get!
It's just very odd to me that out of six new characters, four of their main focuses are about being in a romantic relationship and one of the remaining two is mainly a mother figure.
I dunno! I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, it's just odd and it's something I picked up on. Anne and Mary are both extremely sexual (not inherently a bad thing) and are meant to kinda just parallel Stede and Ed and then never appear again. Zheng is a ruthless pirate queen (who I absolutely adore, by the way) but her motivation mostly surrounds her crush on Oluwande. I think there's genuine potential in a character who is tough and manipulative to gain an advantage where she needs to, but finds herself falling in love with a softie, but that's most of what we get with Zheng and we don't actually SEE her enough to understand her as a character beyond that and her auntie issues. Archie is a fantastic character, but we really only see her interact with Jim and Oluwande.
I don't think it's bad to give female characters romance arcs! I actually love pretty much all of the romantic relationships they end up in. It's just... odd to me that that's most of what we get. I dunno, I was mostly wondering if anyone else noticed that too

honestly the worst thing the season 12 writers could’ve done was make the boys idolize mother mary then have her neglect, lie to, and betray them. it’s not fun or interesting lol it’s just making me mad. and sam so badly wants to believe she’s “just taking some time for herself” but it’s like no baby she’s a self-absorbed piece of cardboard who could never ever be for you what mommy dean was for you. and dean senses that there’s something not quite above board about her but he wants so badly to have his mom back, this person whose absence him and his brothers lives were shaped around, only to find that she would rather be alone than be with them. that’s so fucked up! yet its still like oH MaRY iS sO GrEaT sHe’S tHeiR mOm 🙃🔫plus she makes the boys act all sentimental and wholesome every other episode and i don’t like it, they can only be that way with each other in brief moments over the hood of the impala or in life threatening situations and not a moment sooner!! give me violence and emotional repression or give me death!
